Do Democrats Really Want to Replay This Failed “Collusion” Strategy?

It hasn’t even been six months since Robert Mueller filed his final report, putting a deafening end to two years’ worth of Democrat/media lies. At the end of the day, Mueller brought not a single charge against anyone in the Trump campaign relating to the crime of conspiring with Russia to defraud the 2016 election.

This conclusion was the ultimate rejection of a conspiracy theory that the Democrats and the liberal media have been pushing on the American people since the moment Trump took office, and it was followed by a stunning and bizarre pivot to the idiotic storyline of “obstruction of justice,” which provided the left with just the cover they needed to escape the consequences of their hoax.

But now, with the aid of a whistleblower scandal from the intelligence community, Democrats appear poised to run the same playbook yet again. Apparently they’re not only so arrogant as to believe that the voters have already forgotten their last fraud, they think we’re so stupid that they can fool us again not even a year later! With the SAME exact accusation!

This time around, the country of origin has changed – it’s Ukraine instead of Russia – but otherwise, the conspiracy is nearly identical. The story goes that an anonymous whistleblower inside the intel community overheard Trump promising something sinister to a foreign leader. Subsequent reporting, based on additional anonymous sourcing, has put together the puzzle like so: Trump promised Ukraine leadership U.S. aid if they would investigate Hunter Biden’s business dealings in the country.

This part, reported in the Washington Post, has gotten little attention: “The whistleblower didn’t have direct knowledge of the communications, an official briefed on the matter told CNN. Instead, the whistleblower’s concerns came in part from learning information that was not obtained during the course of their work, and those details have played a role in the administration’s determination that the complaint didn’t fit the reporting requirements under the intelligence whistleblower law, the official said.”

Um. What?

So the whistleblower’s status as a member of the intelligence community is, apparently, only a coincidence? He learned about Trump’s call some other way? Like how? From a story in Salon.com? Idle gossip at a local K Street watering hole? Has he been chatting with Glenn Simpson of Fusion GPS?

This story, with its anonymous sourcing, its second-and-third-hand reports, and its wild jumps to conclusions, has all of the same hallmarks as the Trump/Russia fiasco. Yes, it appears the media and the Democrats are set to make the same colossal mistake twice. Witch Hunt II has begun.

And sequels are almost always worse.
