If there was still any doubt as to why Donald Trump ascended straight to the top of the pack in the Republican primaries, the Hillary Clinton campaign obliterated it with their latest stunt. On Sunday, the campaign announced a new initiative – “Mi Sueno, Tu Voto” – in an attempt to recruit President Obama’s DREAMers into local voting registration efforts. These DREAMers are secure from deportation under Obama’s 2012 executive actions, but they are not themselves eligible to vote in national elections. Clinton wants to put them to use in the second-best way: inspiring other voters to come out and pull the lever for the Amnesty Candidate.
“On the four-year anniversary tomorrow when the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals’ (DACA) enrollment began, Hillary for America is launching a national voter registration program, ‘Mi Sueno, Tu Voto’ (My Dream, Your Vote), to organize DREAMers to mobilize their communities and ask voters to consider what is at stake for their families in November,” reads a press release from the campaign.
In the press release, one DREAMer says that the Republican nominee was in their sights:
“We may not have the right to vote, but ‘Mi Sueno, Tu Voto’ will help ensure that our stories are heard and it will send a clear signal to Donald Trump that we cannot be silenced,” said Astrid Silva, Nevada Dreamer and immigrant rights activist.
It’s unfortunate that Trump has seemingly turned down the volume on his immigration plans, because there is still plenty of gasoline in that particular engine. Republicans have royally screwed the pooch on this issue, and amnesty lies ahead if Hillary is elected in November. It’s what big business wants, it’s what the Democrats want, and it’s what the majority of top Republicans want. The only people who don’t want it: That long-ignored, unimportant group known as THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.
