It’s Scary to Think That John “Bad Information” Brennan Used to Run the CIA

Not that long ago, when President Donald Trump decided to unilaterally strip former CIA Director John Brennan of his top secret security clearance, the media came unglued. How dastardly that this president would politicize the sacred realm of security clearances, they said, invoking an issue that literally no one had ever cared about until that moment.

Liberals, long having been the torch-carriers when it comes to distrusting our intelligence agencies, suddenly turned into lifelong supporters of the CIA and the FBI, and they cursed Trump up one side and down the other for ripping Brennan’s clearances away from him. Why, damn it, this man has a right to know what’s going on! How else is he supposed to make a cushy living in the private sector – his looks?

So we would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when these outraged idiots watched Brennan explain to Joe Scarborough on Monday morning that, well, he really didn’t know what to say. Yes, he’d predicted as recently as a week or so ago that Mueller would toss Trump’s kids in a prison cell. Yes, he’d gone on record to accuse President Trump of treason. So what then? What to make of Mueller’s final conclusion, which is that Trump never colluded? That he never obstructed justice? How do you explain that, Mr. Brennan?

“Well, I don’t know if I received bad information but I think I suspected there was more than there actually was,” Brennan mumbled. “I am relieved that it’s been determined there was not a criminal conspiracy with the Russian government over our election.”

Are you? Are you really? It would be nice to believe that, but from the howls of indignation and disbelief we’ve heard over the last three days, there aren’t too many liberals who share your point of view there, sir. And even if that is your true belief, don’t you have something to say to the American people who believed that you might have had some insider reason for thinking the president was a ruthless traitor? Don’t you have some apologies to make for using your CIA reputation to add weight to the claim that Trump colluded against the United States?

No? Nothing? You just got some bad info?

Scarborough soft-peddled the interview, but some others in the media were not so forgiving.

“John Brennan has a lot to answer for — going before the American public for months, cloaked with CIA authority and openly suggesting he’s got secret info, and repeatedly turning in performances like this,” tweeted ABC’s Terry Moran, posting a video of Brennan predicting that Mueller’s final indictments would target the president’s family.

If nothing else, history has now shown that Trump was well within his rights to strip this moron of his security credentials. In retrospect, it’s frightening to think Brennan was ever in charge of the CIA to begin with.
