According to Hillary Clinton’s running mate, Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine, it was not Hillary’s fault that she sent and received classified information on her private email server. In an interview with ABC’s “This Week,” Kaine said the blame lied with the intelligence community.
“There were emails that contained classified information that had been improperly marked,” Kaine said on Sunday. “So when she received the email, the material that was classified – which is supposed to be flagged and identified as classified – in many instances was improperly labeled.”
Kaine said that government officials could not be expected to always tell the difference.
“We look at so much material, unless it is specifically pulled out and identified, it is difficult to know sometimes whether a statement or a paragraph is classified or not,” he said.
Ah. Well then. That makes everything okay again!
Imagine if your boss caught you looking at porn in your office. And you told him that it wasn’t your fault – that you enjoyed looking at a certain message board, and occasionally, a link would lead to someplace inappropriate. How were you to tell the difference?
What do you think his response would be?
Maybe: Stop clicking ANY links while you’re at work!
What Kaine says about classified information may or may not be true, and it really doesn’t matter either way. If it is true, the appropriate course of action is obvious: You treat EVERY email as though it contains classified information. Of course, you can’t really do that when you’re hellbent on keeping all of your electronic correspondence off the State Department’s internal system. If that’s the case, well, you just play it by ear.
That’s what Hillary did. But since she had no idea what she was doing, she participated in at least 81 email exchanges that put classified material on her private, unsecured servers. The FBI suggests that number could actually be as high as 2,000.
In their interview with Hillary, the FBI asked her about classified markings. From their notes, released Friday:
“When asked what the parenthetical ‘C’ meant before a paragraph…Clinton stated she did not know and could only speculate it was referencing paragraphs marked in alphabetical order.”
This woman is either a pathological liar who has boundless contempt for the intelligence of everyone she speaks to, or she is dangerously incompetent, miming her way through politics without the slightest real clue about anything.
Tim Kaine and the FBI want us to believe its the latter.
Clinton’s history tells another story.
