Trump has Bad News for Countries that Won’t Take Citizens Back

It always baffled and dismayed us when the Obama administration used the “they won’t take them back” excuse to explain why illegal immigrants, criminals, and even terrorists were being allowed to stay in the United States. Like…are we the world’s most powerful country or aren’t we? Was President Obama really telling us that we had no leverage over these Central and South American molehills that refused to take their citizens back after deportation? What kind of a kangaroo administration was this, anyway?

Well, now we have a president in the White House who isn’t afraid to exercise the full power of the U.S. government when it comes to these banana republics and their silly “refusals.” According to administration officials who spoke to Fox News this week, Trump is getting ready to tell four countries that they will take their people back on demand…or else.

From Fox News:

The Trump administration is threatening to halt some travel from four countries refusing to cooperate with the Department of Homeland Security on deportations.

DHS officials confirmed to Fox News that letters have been sent to the State Department seeking the suspension of visas for some of those countries’ citizens.

A State Department official explained to Fox News that “when we receive such notification, the Department of State works to implement a visa suspension as expeditiously as possible in the manner the secretary determines most appropriate under the circumstances to achieve the desired goal.”

Government officials refuse to specify the countries that will be affected. But the dispute centers on countries refusing to accept nationals who have been deported or delaying their return.

We’re quite certain that the mainstream media, insofar as they cover this story at all, will tell us how inhumane and dictatorial this effort is. How loathsome and cruel. They may even be able to dig up a “constitutional scholar” or two to come on the airwaves and tell us how Trump is exceeding his presidential authority by demanding that these countries comply with their own sovereign law. At this point, we can no longer be surprised at how low this country’s liberals will sink to deprive Americans of what they voted for. Nor can we be surprised at the lengths they’ll go to defend illegal immigrants and others who have no business on American soil.

But this is a step that’s long overdue. Even to imagine that some tin pot semi-democratic government in the jungles of South America is REFUSING to take their criminal citizens back from the most powerful nation in history…you don’t know whether to laugh or cry. It really is a wonder our nation made it through the last eight years intact.
