We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: The mainstream media in this country is going to cause someone to get seriously hurt or killed, if they haven’t already. The Democrat/Media alliance is working overtime to convince millions of Americans – not all of them of stable mind – that the Trump administration is creating a Nazi Germany-type situation at the border when it comes to ripping children away from their families. President Trump seems to have taken measures to end this policy to the extent that he can, but the damage has been done. And if we know the left, they aren’t going to let a silly little thing like “it’s not happening anymore” stop them from making political hay while the sun is shining.
To state the obvious, you are playing with fire when you tell Americans that something blatantly evil is being done by the government. Granted, sometimes you have to do it anyway. Appropriate occasions would include…when the government is actually doing something evil. The “crisis” at the border would not count as such a situation. Whatever you may think of the family separation policy, it is nothing more or less than the law. By signing an executive order to end the practice, Trump has actually put his administration AFOUL of the law, which means Congress must act quickly if they want to preserve family units at the border. Which means we could be right back in this situation in a matter of days. Which means more Americans getting radicalized by unhinged, fact-free coverage.
One would guess that actor Peter Fonda is not a serious threat to anyone in government. But his whacked-out Twitter tirade on Wednesday shows that no one is immune to this mainstream media radicalization. If Fonda was inspired to write something this heinous on a public forum, what might others (many of whom have very little to lose in the first place) be inspired to do?
In a Twitter message that has apparently spurred a Secret Service investigation, Fonda said someone should “rip Barron Trump from his mother’s arms and put him in a cage with pedophiles.” He also wrote wishes of violent brutality against Press Secretary Sarah Sanders and Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen. Using a variety of foul insults, he called on Nielsen to be stripped naked and paraded through the streets in a ceremony of shame.
Not long after his rants, the actor sent out a statement of apology.
“I tweeted something highly inappropriate and vulgar about the president and his family in response to the devastating images I was seeing on television,” he wrote. “Like many Americans, I am very impassioned and distraught over the situation with children separated from their families at the border, but I went way too far. It was wrong and I should not have done it. I immediately regretted it and sincerely apologize to the family for what I said and any hurt my words have caused.”
We would suggest that Fonda face at least the same career repercussions as Roseanne did for her (FAR less inciting) Twitter message, but who are we kidding? Liberals protect their own.
We’ll see if they still do that once someone takes these violent thoughts beyond Twitter and into action.
