Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) still hasn’t come up with a plan of how to pay for her $34 trillion Medicare For All proposal (that she can share with the public and survive, anyway), but that doesn’t mean she’s politically inert. By no means! The Massachusetts Democrat is getting things done in Washington, even as she runs her presidential campaign.
Why, just look at this letter that she and Sen. Tammy Baldwin sent to the Department of Homeland Security this week. If nothing else, Warren is a woman who has her priorities straight.
“While in detention, transgender migrants and asylum seekers are particularly vulnerable to sexual harassment, discrimination, and abuse,” Warren wrote. “The United States should protect individuals fleeing persecution and targeted violence, including persecution based on gender identity or expression — not subject them to further harm.”
This woman is seriously leading the pack? How bad ARE the other candidates, anyway?
Well, we of course know that the answer to that question is “extremely,” but that still doesn’t excuse Warren’s rise to the top of the pack. We can only assume this is a sort of temporary madness on the part of Democratic primary voters, and it will be sorted out as soon as we turn the page on a new year and more people get invested in the race. Because this women, as stable and nerdy as she may look, is absolutely out of her mind.
“Trans migrants and asylum seekers are particularly vulnerable,” Warren tweeted. “We must end unnecessary detention and enforce strict standards to keep trans migrants and asylum seekers safe — and I’ll continue holding our government accountable when they fail to do so.”
Literally no one cares about this crap, Elizabeth. Okay, okay, that’s not true. We’re sure there’s a healthy percentage of Twitter radicals who care very deeply about the fate of transgender illegal aliens. But really? This is the kind of thing you’re focused on right now? THIS is what you think is going to win you the Democratic nomination?
God bless you, Liz, but we have to think otherwise.
Then again, maybe you’re right. Maybe the Democratic voting base has become just as loony as you are. If that’s the case, then God help us all.
