NeverTrumpers, as a tribe, are a fairly loathsome bunch. Many of them seem to have just been looking for some excuse to show off their true Democrat colors. Like, what do you say about a turncoat like the Washington Post’s Jennifer Rubin, who hasn’t written a kind word about conservatism or the Republican Party in three years? Or someone like Ana Navarro, who hasn’t just turned her back on the GOP but on seemingly-rock-solid conservative principles like tax cuts? Trump has deranged some of these idiots to the point that they completely changed the entire way they think about politics in general! Astounding stuff.
But if there’s a NeverTrumper more loathsome than the rest, that award would have to go to George Conway, an attorney whose claim to fame is being the husband of White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway. He has used that fame to tweet incessantly about the Trump administration. No, really: Go look at his Twitter account. We’re not sure how he has time to do anything else with his life, he’s on the site so much. Every tweet is an attack on the president. Every day, he’s sinking lower.
On Friday, he swam to even lower depths than usual, accusing Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) of being “lying trash.” Stefanik really got under the left’s skin during Friday’s impeachment hearing; her questioning of former Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch was pointed and masterful. Because Stefanik has one of the most bipartisan voting records in the House, her enemies can’t accuse her of being some rabid right-winger, which is their preferred method of dismissing Republicans. So they’re left with smears and fake photos, both of which Conway trafficked in with abandon.
When Fox News’s Brit Hume took exception to Conway’s characterization of Stefanik as “lying trash,” the nation’s worst husband tweeted a phony picture of the lawmaker giving the camera the bird at the conclusion of Friday’s hearing.
“Hey Brit, here’s what the woman I denounced was doing while Ambassador Yovanovitch was getting a standing ovation,” Conway wrote. “Kind of seems trashy to me, but perhaps you have different standards. By the way, has anyone made the case that she didn’t lie yesterday about her ridiculous stunt?”
It wasn’t long before Stefanik clapped back.
“And for you @gtconway3d – the one thing I’ve NEVER been called in my life is TRASH. You need serious help. My opponent Taxin’ Tedra can have your sick misogynist support,” she wrote.
She and others on Twitter also posted pictures from Friday proving that Stefanik was not wearing the nail polish depicted in the “middle finger” photo – nor was she wearing any polish at all.
“If you had any doubt that this guy is an abusive creep, here’s more evidence,” tweeted Julie Gunlock of the Independent Women’s Forum.
Well, we didn’t need any more evidence; Conway provides it on the daily.
It’s no wonder Kellyanne prefers spending her time with Trump.
