Hillary: Capitol Riot Shows That White Supremacy is “Part of Who We Are”

In the latest of an unending series of terrible takes on what happened at the U.S. Capitol last Wednesday, Hillary Clinton used the pages of the Washington Post to insist that while Trump should be impeached for inciting the riot, that alone would not be enough to remove the stain of white supremacy from the country.

“Trump ran for president on a vision of America where whiteness is valued at the expense of everything else,” Clinton wrote. “In the White House, he gave white supremacists, members of the extreme right and conspiracy theorists their most powerful platforms yet, even claiming that there were ‘very fine people’ among the torch-wielding militia members who converged on Charlottesville in 2017.”

The former secretary of State went on to make the case that what happened at the Capitol was a clear example of Americans choosing their “whiteness” over their democracy.

“In Isabel Wilkerson’s new book ‘Caste,’ she cites a question from historian Taylor Branch: ‘If people were given the choice between democracy and whiteness, how many would choose whiteness?’ Wednesday reminded us of an ugly truth: There are some Americans, more than many want to admit, who would choose whiteness,” Clinton said, fully giving over to the cultish nonsense that has replaced coherent thought on the left.

“It’s sobering that many people were unsurprised by what occurred last week, particularly people of color, for whom a violent mob waving Confederate flags and hanging nooses is a familiar sight in American history,” Clinton continued. “Consider what we saw last June, when Black Lives Matter protesters peacefully demonstrating in Lafayette Square were met with federal officers and tear gas. If the first step toward healing and unity is honesty, that starts with recognizing that this is indeed part of who we are.”

First of all, it’s a naked lie that protesters outside the White House last summer were being peaceful.

Secondly, we’ve just about had it with these “oh, imagine if it was black people storming the Capitol” observations. Do these liberals not remember the countless scenes of police standing by impotently as BLM rioters burned down Minneapolis and other metropolitan cities? Do they not remember seeing police officers KNEELING before these protesters?

On the flipside, we’ve all seen the footage of a black Capitol Police officer being gradually forced backwards by the guy in the Q shirt and his buddies. Was systemic racism what kept this officer from opening fire on his aggressors? Give us a break.

In a sea of terrible commentary about the Capitol siege, those critics who invoke “whiteness” and its related sins are truly deserving of a special award. It’s sadly predictable that Hillary would be among them.
