Is Robert Mueller a Weapon for James Comey’s Revenge?

Both Republicans and Democrats have been effusive in their praise of former FBI Director Robert Mueller, the man who was picked to be the special counsel to investigate Russia’s interference in the 2016 election. But as far as the President Trump aspect of this investigation is concerned – you know, the only aspect that the Democrats really care about – he is as biased and untrustworthy as anyone the Justice Department could have appointed. He is, in fact, a longtime friend and confidant of Mr. James Comey himself.

Now anyone who watched Comey’s self-serving Senate testimony last week can see plainly that this is a man out for revenge. He resents being fired and if he didn’t see it as his personal mission to take Trump down before May 9, he certainly sees it that way today. And there’s no doubt on God’s green earth that his good buddy Mueller is going to help him get that revenge that he so desperately craves. And, of course, in the process, help the Democrats achieve the goal they’ve been pining for since America rejected their awful agenda in November.

The Comey/Mueller relationship has not been overlooked by the president’s inner circle. According to Chris Ruddy, the CEO of Newsmax, he spoke with Trump this week and discovered that the president is thinking seriously about “perhaps terminating” Mueller as special counsel. Ruddy told PBS’s Judy Woodruff that such a move would be a “very significant mistake,” and he’s probably right. With the way the media has portrayed all of this nonsense, it would just give the Democrats more fuel for the fire. Whatever Mueller’s biases – and they are surely there – this one is probably going to have to play itself out.

It’s worth remembering that Democrats don’t actually have any hope of impeaching Trump, much less seeing him locked up for whatever crazy thing they’re accusing him of this week. There’s just no “there” there. But that doesn’t matter. They are out for political blood, and they can get it by dragging this investigation – with all of its insinuations, punditry, and leaks – out for the next four years. That gives them the platform they need to make a more successful bid for the presidency in 2020, and it allows them to shroud Trump’s forward-thinking agenda in a cloud of suspicion. And, best of all, it keeps cowardly Republicans paralyzed in fear. In other words, it is the perfect tool for obstruction.

Unless, of course, the American people truly wise up to what’s happening.
