Obama: Politics Won’t Affect Clinton Investigation

President Obama, who must have spent days practicing his poker face before sitting down with Fox News’s Chris Wallace, said Sunday that the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email server would not be tainted by political bias.

“I guarantee that there is no political influence in any investigation conducted by the Justice Department, or the FBI, not just in this case, but in any case,” Obama said in his first Fox News interview since 2008. “Nobody is above the law. How many times do I have to say it?”

Well, that’s the funny thing about a lie: It doesn’t magically become the truth just because you repeat it. There’s a reason that most Americans don’t believe Clinton will be indicted, and it doesn’t have anything to do with the facts of the case. The Democratic Party establishment is 100% behind Clinton, and Obama isn’t about to flush his legacy down the toilet by handing the election to the Republicans. Nothing short of a video showing Clinton passing state secrets to the Chinese will trigger legal consequences, and we all know it.

Obama, frittering away the last remnants of his credibility, said that Clinton could – at worst – be accused of exercising poor judgement. “There’s carelessness in terms of managing emails that she has owned, and she recognizes,” he said.

Nice. That’s a wonderful trait for a president, isn’t it? Hillary 2016: A Little Careless (But She Owns It).

It makes her sound like she habitually forgets to carry the remainder, not that she put our national security in jeopardy for her own personal convenience. Then again, Democrats are exceptionally talented at finding euphemisms that minimize the truth. Hillary’s “carelessness” can go in the same bucket with “undocumented immigrant” and “pro-choice.”

For anyone who hadn’t already turned off the television in disgust, Obama had some whoppers left in his bag of tricks.

Asked if his response to international terrorism was sufficient, the president said no previous leader could match his record. “There isn’t a president who’s taken more terrorists off the field than me in the last seven and a half years,” he said. “My number one job is to protect the American people. My number one priority right now is defeating ISIL.”

Obama’s claim about having the best Terrorists Killed score – well, that’s because they have multiplied like rabbits under your reign of apathy. You’re playing whack-a-mole when the situation calls for total annihilation. And if defeating these terrorists was really your top priority, you wouldn’t jump at every opportunity to downplay the danger. You wouldn’t use attacks to promote gun control. You wouldn’t tell the world that you consider climate change a bigger threat to the country. You wouldn’t respond to attacks in between rounds of golf or innings of baseball.

At this point, the most interesting question about Obama might be: Is he just a liar, or does he genuinely believe this crap?
