President Trump’s critics had a field day this week with his tweet declaring himself a “very stable genius,” which is further proof that the left has absolutely no sense of humor and does not understand – EVEN NOW – that not everything the president says is to be taken with utmost seriousness. It’s like, after three years (and many, many years in the public eye before then), the media still hasn’t figured out that Donald Trump is a showman. He likes to stir the pot. He likes to make outrageous, braggadocious statements. Not because he expects everyone to go, “Oh wow, he really is a genius,” but because it’s friggin funny. They couldn’t figure out that this tweet was tongue-in-cheek when he said he was “like, really smart”?? Then again, these are the same idiots who still think Trump genuinely wanted Russia to hack into Hillary Clinton’s email server and find the missing 30,000 emails, so we’re not particularly surprised.
Of course, dwelling on this tweet gave them a handy excuse to ignore another one the president wrote the day before. This one was rather more relevant to the state of his presidency and it conveyed a message that the news media is eager to suppress.
“The African American unemployment rate fell to 6.8%, the lowest rate in 45 years,” he wrote. “I am so happy about this News! And, in the Washington Post (of all places), headline states, ‘Trumps first year jobs numbers were very, very good.’”
Crickets from the peanut gallery.
Donald Trump made the unusual (insane, as his detractors portrayed it) decision to put a great deal of focus on African-American voters in the early weeks of the general election campaign. Trump knew that he was not going to successfully convert enough black voters to his side for it to make much of a difference, but he also knew that it had been far too long since any Republican bothered to reach across the racial divide and take a chance. He admitted on the campaign trail that he was unlikely to get much of the black vote, but he promised to do such a great job for the black community that he would change that configuration when he ran for re-election in 2020. To the media, this was all empty chatter. Once again, they failed to distinguish between the times Trump is meant to be taken seriously and when he is not.
Now Trump’s predictions are in the midst of coming true, and the media is eager to ignore it and downplay it and give every excuse in the book as to why we should not credit him with the success. Why? Well, there are two reasons. One, to deny that there is ANYTHING good about the Trump presidency has simply become reflexive nature for the liberal media. Two, it is just too embarrassing to admit the full truth, which is that, in only one year, the racist, evil white supremacist known as Donald Trump has done more for black Americans than their great black savior did in eight years. They will NEVER admit this truth, no matter how obvious it becomes. Because to do so would be to put the final nail in the coffin of the long-dead zombie that is the Democratic Party.
