The era of Maxine’s Minions is not over, as demonstrated at a Washington, D.C. restaurant on Monday night.
Sen. Ted Cruz and his wife Heidi were trying to enjoy a meal out together this week when they were besieged by a crowd of leftist protesters shouting “We believe survivors.” The protesters, believed to be part of the activist group Smash Racism DC, were there to confront Cruz over his and the Republican Party’s support of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. The “survivors” in question, we suppose, are Christine Blasey Ford and Debbie Ramirez, neither of whom – even if their accusations are true – really “survived” much of anything, to be frank.
But this is the latest Cause of the Week in leftist circles, so it didn’t surprise us to see a bunch of idiots successfully drive Cruz out of the restaurant.
As Cruz and his wife were seated, a video posted by Smash Racism depicts a woman approaching the Texas senator and asking him about the Supreme Court nominee.
“Hi, I’d love to talk to you about Brett Kavanaugh tonight,” the woman says. “I’m a constituent, love to know what your vote is gonna be tonight. I know that you’re very close friends with Mr. Kavanaugh. Do you believe survivors? Senator, I have a right to know what your position is on Brett Kavanaugh.”
“God bless you, ma’am,” Cruz said, miraculously holding his temper.
“Bless you as well, I really appreciate you,” the woman replies. “I’m a survivor of sexual assault. I believe all survivors. There are now three people who have come forward and who have said that Brett Kavanaugh has attacked them. I know that you’re close friends with him. Could you talk to him about that? Could you talk to him about his position?”
Before we get into how inappropriate it is to antagonize someone like this in a public place, can we just mention how idiotic it is to “believe all survivors?” This woman thinks there’s no such thing as a false sexual assault accusation? This woman seriously believes that women, what? Never tell lies? Come on.
“Vote no on Kavanaugh,” one protester screamed at Cruz and he and his wife decided to call it an early night. “Cancel Kavanaugh for women’s rights!”
As disgusting as the display was at the restaurant, the message that Smash Racism posted on their Twitter account later was that much more disturbing.
“This is a message to Ted Cruz, Bret Kavanaugh, Donald Trump and the rest of the racist, sexist, transphobic, and homophobic right-wing scum: You are not safe. We will find you. We will expose you. We will take from you the peace you have taken from so many others,” they wrote.
No, but let’s ban James Friggin’ Woods from Twitter. Makes perfect sense.
